Politicising Death

I was in hospital, as my grandfather was in ICU last week. Tension always prevails in hospitals.. lots of commotions.. lots of sadness..

I was terrified initially, but standing in the by-standers for your relatives is like - you are desperate to have your loved ones back in health.

There was an incident which happened on that day, and I felt so horrible about our political system.

A person had died that day in the ICU. Emotions were strong and his relatives were pouring in. It occurred me that the person was a small time member of a political party. A small van followed by a Benz arrived. Out came the big-wig of the political party. No emotions were seen in his face.. so stern.

He was ordering over phone, to raise banners and sheets for the demised person. He was also ordering all the shops in the market to be closed. He had not even seen that demised person and was not able to tell his name... The worst thing is, he called one of the relatives who was mourning the death, and was asking the demised person's name and a photograph of the person.

I could not even see a single drop of tear from that political guy.. How cruel have we become? we have lost our basic courteousness to our fellow human being.

Why has Man become so greedy and ruthless.. Will we ever be human?
